Mr. J. F. Pogue died at his home near Springfield Sunday afternoon, after a short illness. He was in his 84th year. Mr. Pogue was a worthy citizen and was a most excellent neighbor. Many friends and neighbors gathered with the relatives at Lebanon church Monday at 2 p. m. where the funeral and interment occurred. Rev. H. H. Ellis conducted the last rites, and the remains of the old soldier of the sixties was laid to rest in the soil which he fought so bravely to defend in the early days of his manhood.
