Mrs. Lura Lee "Granny” Prather 83 Atlanta formerly of LaGrange died yesterday 
morning at Grady Hospital Atlanta following a serious illness of a week Funeral 
will be held at 3 pm Monday at Stonewall Street Church of God with the Rev 
Charles Ridgeway pastor the Rev E A Thompson Covington and the Rev James W air 
Atlanta officiating The body will lie in state at the church from 2 pm Monday 
until the funeral hour Burial will be in the Rock Mills Ala Cemetery with Maddox 
Funeral Home LaGrange in charge. A native of Copper Hill Tenn Mrs. Prather 
resided here 40 years before moving to Atlanta She was a member of Stonewall 
Street Church of God and had been in declining health three years Survivors 
include six daughters Mrs. Claudia Little and Mrs. Elizabeth Ellison both of 
Atlanta, Mrs. Jessie Green Hapeville, Mrs. Mac Smith Fairfax Ala, Mrs. Carl 
Lauderdale LaGrange, and Mrs. Margaret Jones Sacramento Calif two sons Joel 
Prather Decatur and Pate Prather Conyers. 17 grandchildren and 31 great-
grandchildren,
