Anniston Star
Eleven-year-old Burl Prestridge of Newell, died last night at Anniston Memorial 
Hospital. The youth was brought to the hospital earlier this week after he fell 
as he started to sit down at a singing school. When X-rays showed a fractured 
leg. Burl was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Doctors said a blood clot 
developed yesterday and, before it could be stopped. Burl was dead. His parents 
are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Prestridge, of Newell. Funeral services will be held at 
3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at Jordan's Chapel. Randolph County, with the Rev. 
Dave Craft officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Usrey Funeral 
Home in charge. The boy is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard 
Prestridge. and one sister, Janice, all of Newell his and his grandparents Troy 
Prestridge of West Point. Ga, and John Wesley Cummings of Graham.
