The Roanoke Leader
Melvin Thomas Reaves of Montgomery, age 35, passed away in Birmingham about 1 
o'clock Sunday morning, April 29. Mr. Reaves is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy 
Green Reaves of Birmingham; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Reaves of 
Wedowee Rt. 1; 3 brothers, James Reaves of Warrior, Ala., Wylie Reaves of Oxford, 
and Gerald Reaves of Star Route, Roanoke; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Bessie Graham of 
Atlanta and Miss Betty Reaves of Wedowee Rt. 1. Funeral services for Mr. Reaves 
were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Levins Baptist Church by 
Rev. Arthur Smith. Burial was in the church cemetery. Quattlebaum's Brown Service 
in charge.
