Anniston Star 
Funeral services for William C. Reaves .78, of Newell, Rt. were held Friday 
afternoon from Union Jackson-Baptist Church in Randolph County by the Rev. 
Monroe Wiggins Burial was in the adjoining cemetery, Quattlebaum's Funeral Home 
in charge. Mr. Reaves died suddenly last Wednesday evening at his home. 
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Cara Reaves; four sons, Lee of Heflin; Murley of 
Attalla; Wilson of Wedowee; Johnny of Anniston; five daughters, Mrs. Elba Free, 
Mrs. J. A. Lumpkin and Mrs. Nelson Butler, all of Anniston; Mrs. Howard Williams 
and Mrs. Earl Russell, both of Newell; a brother, George Reaves of Wadley, three 
sisters, Mrs. Sara Jane Lipham of Newell; Mrs. Susana McCleroy and Mrs. Henry 
White, both of Wedowee; 45 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers 
were Mr. Reaves grandsons: Shellie Free, James Lumpkin, and Carlis. Curtice, 
Hubert and Tommie Reaves.
