OBITUARIES:

Shirley Rice

   (WEDOWEE RT. 1) Mrs. Shirley Rice, age 42, of Wedowee, Rt. 1, died Tuesday, 
April 28, 1987, at Wedowee Hospital after an extended illness.
   Mrs. Rice was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, a homemaker, and a 
member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
   Survivors include her husband, Jerry Rice, two daughters, Mrs. Rhonda Hall 
and Miss Misti Rice, and one son, Chuck Rice, all of Wedowee Rt. 1; her 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Spradlin of Woodland; her grandmother, Mrs. Lola 
Spradlin of Woodland; one sister, Mrs. Angie Wysner of Woodland; and one 
brother, John Spradlin of Woodland.
   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Thursday afternoon, April 30, at Mt. 
Pleasant Baptist Church, with the Rev. Barrett Holloway and the Rev. Kenneth 
Fuller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
   Pallbearers will be Leon White, Jimmy Hall, Calvin Bailey, Lamar Payne, 
Ricky Daniel, and Steve Lipham.
   Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee is in charge of arrangements.
   The deceased will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 o'clock 
Wednesday afternoon until an hour before the service and then will be in state 
at the church.
