CARROLLTON News

Death loves a shining mark. The many Carrollton friends of Miss Lee Ridley, 
the charming daughter and only child of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Ridley of Heard 
county were shocked to learn of her death in Atlanta last week. She was 
taken seriously ill on Saturday night the 28th ult., and rapidly grew worse 
until her pure spirit was wafted to the Great White Throne. She was a young 
woman of rare lovableness and a general favorite with all who knew her. She 
was the idol of her fond parents. To them she rendered herself indispensable 
in a hundred helpful ways. She divided with her mother the cares of the 
household and to her father she rendered valuable aid in the management of 
his business affairs. Painful as this is to father, mother relatives and 
friends, yet there is one here, poor boy whose heart lies buried with that 
adorned one in her peaceful grave "neath the cypress shades of Roanoke 
cemetery.
