Mrs. Mattie D. Rushton 608 Harwell Ave died at her home here Saturday night after 
a long illness. Funeral will be at 2 pm at Unity Baptist here with the Revs Long 
and Jesse Ray officiating Burial will be in Springfield Ala Baptist Church 
Cemetery. She was a native of Randolph County Ala and had lived in LaGrange for 
18 years Mrs. Rushton was a member of Unity Baptist Church. Survivors include 3 
daughters Mrs. J. B. Buttram and Mrs. Jeff Buttram both of LaGrange, Mrs. James 
Anderson Franklin a son H. Rushton Roanoke Ala a brother Lunnie Benefield Roanoke 
a sister Mrs. Cleze Gay Roanoke 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
