ROBISON DIED NEAR WADLEY WED. ------------------------------ Mr. R. B. F. ROBISON died at his home near Wadley last Wednesday after a long and trying illness. He was one of the best citizens of that section. He was a Confederate veteran, a faithful member of the Methodist church and of the Masonic fraternity. The burial Thursday was conducted with Masonic honors, after services by the pastor of the deceased. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 25 Jun 1919, p.1] ---------- Robert B. F. ROBISON, 25 Mar 1843--18 Jun 1919, Christina I. STEPHENS ROBISON, 1846--1941, his wife, Both interred in the Wadley City Cemetery, Randolph Co., Alabama. R. B. F. ROBISON’s gravestone reads “1844” R. B. F. ROBISON served in Company H, 8th Confederate Cavalry Regiment A letter written in Feb 1865 while R. B. F. ROBISON was stationed in Columbus, Mississippi, and sent to his future wife, can be found on page 4 of the 1 May 1940 edition of The Roanoke Leader; article is entitled “Confederate Correspondence.” The article states that Mrs. ROBISON was born 6 Jun 1844.
