Funeral services for the Rev. George H. Shaddix. age 63, who died Sunday at his 
home near Newell, were conducted Monday afternoon at Pine Hill Church by the Rev. 
Alton Laney and the Rev. Herman Caldwell. The Rev. Mr. Shaddix was well known in 
this county, having served as pastor of several churches. Surviving are the 
widow, two sons, Ethrain G. Lanett, and George H. Shaddix Jr. four daughters Mrs. 
Bernie Lipham and Mrs. Berta Lipham, Newell, Mrs. Jessie Laney Alexander City, 
and Mrs. Lena Hardy Wadley.
