Funeral services for Denson Simpson, 61, will be held today at 1 p.m., at We-
dowee Methodist Church with the Revs. Hobart Murphree and Hillard Vance 
officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery Newell. Quattlebaum Funeral 
Home in charge. Mr. Simpson, a well-known educator, died Tuesday at 7: 15 a.m., 
in the Wedowee Hospital after long illness. He had served as principal of 
Wedowee High School for the put several years. A strong supporter of 
professional and civic organizations, he was a Methodist, a Mason, and a 
Kiwanian He is survived by his wife six brothers, one sister and several nieces 
and nephews. Pallbearers will be male members of Randolph County High School, 
Payton Woodham, Jim Harris, Jerry Brazeal, Robert Murphree, Coleman Sikes, Walt 
er Farr, James Kendrick, Meek Huey and Jimmy New.
