OBITUARIES:

Josh Smith

   (LAGRANGE, GA.) Josh Smith, 86, of Royal Elaine Nursing Home in LaGrange, 
died Thursday afternoon, Sept. 30, 1982, in West Georgia Medical Center.
   A lifelong resident of Randolph County and a retired farmer, Mr. Smith had 
been living in Roanoke prior to going to the nursing home about six months ago 
because of failing health.
   He is survived by five sons, Roy Smith of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mutt Smith and 
Frank Smith of Roanoke, Luther Smith of LaGrange, and Johnny Smith of Griffin, 
Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Leera Moman of LaGrange; and 26 grandchildren and 43 
great-grandchildren.
   Funeral services for Mr. Smith were conducted at two o'clock Saturday 
afternoon, Oct. 2, at Bethel East Baptist Church in Randolph County. The Rev. 
Wesley Forrister officiated, assisted by the Rev. Gussie Clark.  Burial was in 
the church cemetery.
   Fling Funeral Home, Inc., of LaGrange in charge of arrangements.
