Cpl. Jimmy Ray Smith of Delta, Rt. 1, died late yesterday in Tallapoosa, Ga., 
after being, injured in an automobile accident there. The 18-year-old member of 
the Air Force was home on leave before being assigned to overseas duty. He had 
been in service about a year and was stationed at Warner Robins Air Force Base at 
Macon, Ga. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from 
Center West Baptist Church at Delta, with burial in the adjoining cemetery, Usrey 
directing. Corporal Smith is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Smith, 
Delta, Rt. 1; seven brothers, Shackford, Linward, Winford, Bradford, Clinton, 
Sanford and Edward, all of Delta; two sisters, Mrs. Lorene Daughtery and Mrs. 
Eulene Buckhanon; and both grandmothers, Mrs. Tilda Smith and Mrs. Amanda Key.
