Mrs. Mattle Lee Smith 56, of Wedowee, Rt. 2. died at a Roanoke Hospital yesterday 
morning after an illness. She was a lifetime resident of Randolph County. 
Surviving are two sons. Artis and Dennis Smith, both of Wedowee, Rt. 2; two 
daughters Mrs. J.T. Rollins of Wedowee, Rt. 2; Mrs. Pete Nichols of Roanoke, a 
brother, Howard Bowen of Wedowee Rt. 2, a sister, Mrs. Will Laney of Woodland, Rt 
2, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held this afternoon from 
Napoleon Church of God by the Rev. Bill Spradlin. Burial was in the adjoining 
cemetery, Quattlebaum's Funeral Home in charge.
