Dwight Strain 72 of Woodland died Monday at East Alabama Medical Center Opelika 
The funeral and burial will be 2 pm today at Zion Baptist Church Randolph County 
according to Benefield Funeral Home Wedowee. Mr. Strain was born July 27, 1917, 
in Randolph County son of George and Vaudie Pearl Strain. He lived in Randolph 
County all his life was a cattle farmer a retired mechanic for Cecil Goode’s 
Garage Woodland and a member and deacon of Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include 
his wife Sara Strain a daughter Geraldine S Moore of Wetumpka, a son Danny R 
Strain of Columbus, two sisters Burmadean Edwards of Woodland, Jeanette McCord of 
Bowden Ga, two brothers Aubrey Strain and Ellis Ray Strain both of Woodland three 
grandchildren.
