WATSON DEAD ---------------------------- After a lingering illness Mrs. S. J. [MOOTY] WATSON [23 Apr 1840--3 May 1911] died last Wednesday night at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. R. P. [Robert Pink] PRICE [Hallie CAMERON, 16 Oct 1882--7 May 1975], in this place [Roanoke]. She was a sister of Mrs. Leonidas JONES [Margarett MOOTY, 25 Sep 1835--19 Dec 1911] and was a most estimable christian [sic] lady. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the Presbyterian church, of which the deceased was a member, and to which she gave long years of faithful service. The services were very impressive and were conducted by Rev. W. T. HOLLINGSWORTH, of LaFayette, assisted by Revs. S. L. DOBBS and F. H. FARRINGTON. The remains were then laid to rest in Cedarwood beside those of her lamented husband [H. L. WATSON, 13 Apr 1837--10 Jan 1907], who died four years ago.
