Rt. 3. died at her home at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday. Survivors include her husband. Charles Albert Tennant, Sr., four sons. Bartow Tennant of Norfolk. Va., Charles Albert Tennant, Jr. of Dublin. Ga. Thomas E. Tennant of Anniston, and Joe Frank Tennant, of Roanoke, Rt. 3; four daughters. Mrs. Rachel Sanders, of Birmingham, Mrs. Ruth Yarbrough, of Bainbridge, Ga., Mrs. Sara Benefield. of Roanoke, and Mrs. Mary Jane Shumate, of Tuscaloosa; two brothers, Sam V. Carpenter. Sr., and H. Wood Carpenter, both of Wedowee. Rt. 2: 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from Calvary Baptist Church, four miles south of Wedowee on Highway 431 in Randolph County. The Revs. Hollis Chambers and Hobart Murphree will officiate. Pallbearers will be James Carpenter, Sammy Carpenter, Horace Herrin. R. C. Hester, Murphree Mostellar, Herman Needham, Alfred Pennington and Doyle Holloway. Quattlebaum Brown- Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The body will remain at the funeral home until time for the services. Burial will be in the Wedowee Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Tennant. a life-long resident of Randolph County, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, which was built on land which she and her husband had provided for it.
