Manning E. Thomas 61 of 1204 Old Opelika Road Opelika died Wednesday at his home 
because of a long illness. The funeral will be at 11 am CST Friday at Macedonia 
Baptist Church Randolph County Ala, with burial in the church cemetery according 
to Fredericks Funeral Home. Mr. Thomas was born March 5, 1918, in Clay County Ala 
son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Manning Thomas. He was a member of the Forrester’s 
Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters Mrs. Rebecca Thompson 
and Mrs. Peggy Waller both of Opelika, a son Earl Thomas Opelika six sisters Mrs. 
Lillie Waldrop Opelika, Miss Mary Thomas, Miss Myrtle Thomas, Mrs. Irene Dabbs 
all of Wadley Ala, Mrs. Annie Halsey Roanoke Ala, Mrs. Edna Davis Dallas Ga., and 
four grandchildren.
