He was one of the best known citizens in the entire county. He was 74 years of age and had been living in this vicinity some 60 years. For a long time past he had been a member of the board of trustees of Roanoke College. He leaves a widow and seven grown sons. The interment occurred at High Pine [Baptist Church cemetery] Saturday, the services being conducted by Rev H J HOLLIDAY.
