DAVIS ---------------------------- At nine o’clock last Wednesday night [23 Jun 1909] Mrs. Thenie W. DAVIS died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. A. JEFFERS, in this place [Roanoke]. She had been ill for some weeks, but death came suddenly and unexpectedly -- a result of heart failure. The funeral was held from the Baptist church Thursday at 5 o’clock, conducted by Revs. G. E. BREWER and S. L. DOBBS. Mrs. DAVIS was a native of Georgia and was about 73 years of age. She was a member of the Baptist church and was a devoted christian [sic]. She was an estimable lady, held in high esteem by all who knew her. ------------------------------ CARD OF THANKS ------------------------------ We desire to thank all of our friends who ministered to us so very kindly when mother died.
