He was buried at Rock Mills the next day. He was a member of the Aikin [sic--Aiken]-Smith camp [of United Confederate Veterans] at Roanoke. Of a once happy family of seven, only two are now left -- F W HILL, of LaGrange, and your correspondent [George O HILL]. One after another we are passing on to the great beyond. God grant that each one of us on the morn of the great resurrection may be so fortunate as to eternally bask under the smile of His refulgent countenance evermore, in that promised home of the blest!
