LaFayette Sun
Died at High Shoals, Randolph County, Alabama, Brother Calvin Ussery on the 31st 
day of July 1884. He was born in Richmond County, North Carolina, on the 4th day 
of May, A. D 1819, and was married to Nancy A. Falkner on the 17th day of 
November 1838 and joined the Baptist Church of Christ in the year of our Lord 
1849. Age 68 years, two months and twenty-six days. Brother Ussury served as a 
faithful member of the church, and as deacon for a number of years, and was 
beloved by all who knew him. Hs was devoted husband and father, and indeed a 
great friend to the poor, and contributed largely to the cause of his Heavenly 
Master. Brother Ussery represented bit county Randolph three teams in the 
legislator and was a great advance on the peace and order. The family the church 
and the community at large, has sustained a great lost in his death of Brother 
Ussery....
