Mrs. Veal was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. A former resident of Woodland Rt. 2, she and her husband had recently purchased a farming operation on Wedowee Rt. 2. She was a member of Highway Congregational Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Veal of Woodland; three children, Deah, Amy, and Jason Veal, all of Woodland; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Major Cantrell of Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Tempie Mitchell of Roanoke and Mrs. Winnette Kimball of Carrollton, Ga.; and six brothers, Burnze Cantrell of Wedowee, Morgan Cantrell of Carrollton, Ga., Harold Cantrell of Opelika, James Cantrell of River View, and Major Cantrell Jr. of Woodland, and Donnie Cantrell of Douglasville, Ga. Funeral services for Mrs. Veal were held at two o'clock Monday at Highway Congregational Methodist Church, with the Rev. Vernon E. Willis officiating Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Danny Cantrell Jimmy Wayne Cantrell, Teddy Joe Cantrell, Russ Williams, Chris Cantrell, and Mark Cantrell.
