Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Minnie Will Whaley 30. of Wedowee and her three-year-old son Clarence 
Whaley, were killed instantly yesterday when hit by a truck while the mother was 
chasing her boy across the road. Witnesses said the two were walking along a 
highway when the boy suddenly ran across the road in front of the truck, Mrs. 
Whaley attempted to save him, and both were struck.

They are buried at Midway Cemetery, Randolph County AL.
