Roanoke Leader
Mr. Euel C. Whaley, of Wedowee, age 55, died at 7:00 p. m. Sunday, April 22. His 
death came as a result of an automobile accident near Morrisons Crossroads. 
Funeral services were held from the Wedowee Methodist Church at 2:00 p. m. 
Tuesday, April 24, with the Rev. Hobart Murphree officiating. Interment was in 
the Masonic Cemetery in Wedowee under the direction of Quattlebaum's Funeral 
Home. Mr. Whaley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Bowen Whaley of Wedowee; 
six sons: Roy of Riverview. and Elbert, Dewey, Curtis, Edward, and Carlos of 
Wedowee; two daughters: Miss Nellie Whaley of Anniston and Mrs. Lois Traylor of 
Heflin; fourteen grandchildren: three brothers: Bruner, Bill, and Carl of 
Wedowee; and two sisters: Mrs. Mattie Bowen of Newell and Mrs. Beatrice Vaughn 
of Wedowee.
