Roanoke Leader
Willie Byrd Whaley of La Grange RL 1, age 38, pasted away in the Veterans 
Hospital in Montgomery on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 7:40 a. m. Mr. Whaley is survived 
by his wife, Mrs. Blanche Sheppard Whaley; one son, Willie Terrell Whaley, and 
one daughter, Shelia Jane Whaley, all of LaGrange Rt. 1; four brothers, Shell 
Whaley of Lineville, Cleve Whaley of Wedowee, Fred Whaley of Barnesvllle, Ga and 
Pascell Whaley of Palidade, Colorado; and a sister, Mrs. Eris Smith of Gadsden. 
Funeral services for Mr. Whaley were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon 
from the Rock Mills Baptist Church by Rev. Heflin Daniel, Rev. Bernard Fuller, 
and Rev. George Warren. Burial was in the Wedowee Cemetery, Quattlebaum's Brown 
Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
