Anniston Star
Shirrell White, 34, of Newell, Rt. 1, died Wednesday at Wedowee Hospital after a 
short illness. Services were scheduled for today at 2 p.m. at Union Baptist 
Church with the Rev. Monroe Wiggins and the Rev. Chester Craft officiating. 
Burial was to be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. 
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Cassie M. Pauley of Newell; three brothers, 
Herbert Pauley of Delray Beach, Fla., Howard Pauley and Gwin Pauley, both of 
Newell; three half-brothers, Gross White, C. B. White and Hoyt White; a sister, 
Mrs. Florence Mitchell of Wedowee, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Clara Conger of 
Wedowee and Miss Velma White of Newell. Mr. White was a Baptist and a native and 
lifelong resident of Randolph County.
