Wedowee Sep. 19. 
Mr. Charley Tennant, of the Cedron community, was lodged in jail here early 
Monday morning charged with killing Mr. Dave white. It is alleged that the two 
men had a difficulty about weeks ago, resulting in a fight in which Mr. White 
received injuries from which he died two weeks later. The preliminary trial of 
Mr. Tennant is set for Friday of this week.

1934

Wedowee, Jan. 30.
Circuit court closed here on Thursday of last week. A large crowd' was in town 
on Wednesday and Thursday to hear the two murder cases on docket, Mr. Charlie 
Tennant, charged with killing Dave White, was convicted of murder in the second 
degree and given a sentence of ten years in the penitentiary.

June 29.  
Charles Tennant and Dave White agreed to fight a "fair fight" without knives, 
but White died as a result of blows, so Tennant must serve ten years on a 
second-degree murder charge under a ruling of the Court of Appeals.
