Burial with military honors will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Williams died Monday, May 19, at Clay County Hospital. He was a native of Cullman but had lived in Clay County since 1967. Roger completed his training as a licensed practical nurse at Nunnelly Technical School and had worked as a L.P.N. at various locations in Alabama for more than 30 years. He had also served in the Alabama Army National Guard for more than 30 years, was a veteran of Desert Storm/Desert Shield and retired as a sergeant first class. Mr. Williams was a member and deacon at Dingler's Chapel Christian Church. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father and mother, Marvin and Uzell Duke; two sisters, Judy Ann Williams and Dinah Lucindy Williams; two stepsisters, Jo Buchanan and Kathleen Dudley; and one stepbrother, Willie Duke. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Miles Williams of Lineville; four sisters, Onita Parish of Goodwater, Sandra Featley of England, Jo Williams of Ashland and Susan Jacks of Lineville; one brother, Jack Duke of Ashland; two stepsisters, Ann Cooper of Ashland and Shelby Hand of Talladega; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
