Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 8 o'clock at Midway Methodist 
Church for Tommy Williams, 73, of 17 Harris Ave., Roanoke, who died Saturday at 
10:11 a.m., in Chambers County Hospital at LaFayette after an illness. Burial 
was in the church cemetery with the Revs. Hugh Lasseter and Hobart Murphree 
officiating. Quattlebaum s Brown Service Funeral Homo was in charge of 
arrangements. Active pallbearers were Calvin Shipp, Albert Cofield, Howard 
Seymour, Donald Benefield, Charles Shipp and Burlis West. He is survived by the 
widow, Mrs. Fairy McLeroy Williams; a son, J. T. Williams, Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. 
Kate Bassett; two brothers; a sister and five grandchildren, all of Roanoke. Mr. 
Williams was. a retired farmer and textile worker. A native of Randolph County, 
he was a member of Rock Springs Congregational Christian Church.
