Funeral services for James Floyd Wilson, Sr., Wedowee postmaster for 18 years, 
were held Saturday morning at the Wedowee Baptist Church. Burial was in the 
Wedowee Masonic Cemetery and Masonic rites were conducted at graveside. Mr. 
Wilson, 66, died at his Wedowee residence Thursday. Surviving are the widow; 
three sons, James F. Wilson, Jr., of Wedowee, William Wilson of Ashland and 
Joseph Wilson of Opp; one daughter. Mrs. W. H. Kinard of Troy and several 
grandchildren Active pallbearers at the funeral services were F. S. McManus, 
Keever Benefield. James C. Carpenter, Harlice Kirby, Davis M Dobson. W. T. 
Weahers. HW Overton, C. W. Dobson and A. J. Weathers. Mr. Wilson was a member of 
the Wedowee Methodist Church a World War I veteran and was leader in the Sawyer 
Masonic Lodge for 19 years.
