Anniston Star
Graveside services for Cleophus Woodgett, 58, of 1220 W. 16th St., Anniston, will 
be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Canaan Baptist Church in Wedowee with the Rev. R.L. 
Smith officiating and Ervin Funeral Chapel in charge. Mr. Woodgett died Wednesday 
at his home. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Cassandra Woodgett Thompson of 
Washington and Mrs. Kontrina Matthews of Anniston; two sons, Cleophus Woodgett 
Jr. of Fort Hood, Texas and Everett Woodgett of Little Rock, Ark.; his father, 
Rufus Woodgett of Wedowee; three sisters, Mrs. Ophelia Goodwin of Wedowee, Mrs. 
Mattie Ware of Anniston and Ruby Mae White of Trenton, N.J.; four brothers, Jimmy 
L. Woodgett, Robert Lee Woodgett, L A. Woodgett and T.L. Woodgett, all of 
Wedowee; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
