Roanoke Leader
D. Harris Wright, 78, died Friday, Feb. 2, at his home in Wedowee after a live-
month illness. Mr. Wright was co-owner and operator of Wrights Motel in Wedowee. 
He was a member of the Baptist Church and had been a lifelong resident of 
Randolph County. Services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday from Levins Baptist 
Church by Revs. Hal K. Jacks, Lennox Mallory, Henry E. Ford, and Elbert Daniel. 
Burial was in the church cemetery, with Quattlebaum's Funeral Home of Roanoke in 
charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ophelia McLeod Wright of Wedowee; a 
brother, Wyatt Wright Sr. of Wedowee; and three sisters, Mrs. Annie Earnest of 
LaGrange, Mrs. Arie Wortham of Wedowee, and Mrs. Vera Perry of Fyffe. Nephews 
served as pallbearers. Close friends were honorary pallbearers.
