TUCKER received the distressing news Tuesday that his little grandson, Willie TUCKER, aged 14 years, had been shot and killed while riding home on a bicycle from his work in Ensley [Jefferson County] Monday night [8 February 1915]. The cause of the murder is unknown. Willie was the eldest son of the late Mr. Charles E. TUCKER, who was killed by a desperate negro [sic] whom he was trying to arrest near Milltown [Chambers County] several years ago. The boy was a manly little fellow and the main support of his widowed mother.
