One bullet from YARBROUGH’s pistol entered MOORE’s mouth and came out through the back of his head. Another penetrated the left shoulder at the base of the neck; while another bullet plowed its way through the scalp on [the] side of his head. YARBROUGH had a hole through his hat. While MOORE says himself he will die, nevertheless he is game and battling manfully against the grim monster without any intention of surrender. It will be miraculous, in my opinion, if he survives. G. O. HILL [Napoleon community correspondent] Later.—The death of Mr. MOORE has been reported. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 7 April 1915, p.1] ---------------------------- [Excerpt from] TWO DEATHS REPORTED FROM WEDOWEE, RTE [Route] 2 ---------------------------- April 9.—Mr. Will MOORE, who was fatally shot on the afternoon of March 31st, died Sunday night [4 April 1915] after several days suffering at the home of his father-in-law, William HAYNES. The interment took place at Napoleon Monday afternoon with a large concourse of people in attendance, and Brother Walter McMURRAY officiating. He leaves a young wife and three little children to mourn over their great loss, besides a father and mother, brothers and sisters. Billy MOORE, his father, is a good, substantial citizen of Beat 4, and a man of means, who desires me to say to the generous people of Napoleon that himself and family are incapable of expressing in words their thankfulness for their loving care and tender nursing of his unfortunate son. G. O. HILL, Wedowee, Rte. 2. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 14 April 1915, p.1] ---------------------------- MR. W. A. REEVES, charged with assault, was refused bail. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 14 April 1915, p.1] ---------- William H.
