He moved to Blake's Ferry, in Randolph County, before the war. After the war he married Miss Jane Neal, professed religion and joined the Baptist church in early manhood and lived true till the Lord called him to the church above. He joined the Masonic fraternity before the war and lived a member till he was called to that Grand Lodge above where the Grand Master presides who has done all things well, who is glorious in holiness, fearful in praises. May we who survive him be more strongly cemented in the ties of union and friendship that we may wisely employ our time for the good of each other. May our Heavenly Father's choicest blessings comfort and keep the noble and consecrated widow who shared the joys and sorrows of forty-five years of married life and may the mantle of the sainted father fall in benediction upon the sons and daughters who bear his honored name. His body was tenderly laid to rest among the friends he loved so well. How well he fell asleep, like some proud river widening towards the sea, calm, grand, silent and deep. Life joined eternity. Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the Lodge, and a copy sent to the bereaved family. R. A. Speer, R. D. Evans, L. H. Crumpler Committee Additional Comments: He is buried Christiana Randolph County.
