This is a group photo taken about 1873 in the Fox Creek area (near Christiana
Church) in Randolph County, Alabama. It was in the belongings of Nathaniel Floyd
Warren (1846-1919) when he died. We know that NF is the man on the far left (suited
and sitting in a chair) His only child by his 1st wife is standing on his right
[=James Floyd Warren (1865-1938)] James Floyd is the boy on the far left-looking at
the photo.
NF Warren's 1st wife was Mary Ella Knight (1843-1865). Mary Ella had died and
NF remarried 2nd to Arbelle Wiggins (1844-1910). Arbelle Wiggins Warren is the woman
holding the baby that was named after NF's 1st wife. The baby was named Mary Ella
Warren (1873-1948) Arbelle and her baby (Mary Ella) are right behind the elder
gentleman at the center of the photo. Possibly the oldest man in the picture.

There has been speculation about the others in the photo.

Wiggins' granddaughter. I am basing the approximate date of the photo (1873) on the
birth year of NF & Arbelle's baby, Mary Ella for whom records exist.
