Herman HEFLIN, one of Roanoke’s worthy young men, was married yesterday afternoon [12 Sep 1916] to Miss Annie HEAD, daughter of Mr. W. R. HEAD, a prominent citizen of the Springfield section [of Randolph Co.]. The ceremony occurred at the home of the latter at 3:30 o’clock and was performed by Rev. A. S. BRANNAN in the presence of a number of friends and relatives. The bride is an excellent young lady and is cordially welcomed to our community. Mr. and Mrs. HEFLIN came at once to Roanoke and are stopping with the groom’s sister, Mrs. Lula BIRDSONG. They will begin housekeeping in a few days in one of the STEVENSON cottages on Government Street. The Leader unites with all the friends of Mr. and Mrs. HEFLIN in extending felicitations.
