SUDDUTH, of this community [Roanoke], who has been teaching successfully the past few years in Randolph and Talladega counties, was married March 30th to Mr. M. E. BATES, of Talladega, now located in Sylacauga, where the couple are making their home. The many friends of the bride will be interested in this announcement and will extend hearty good wishes. Chess SUDDUTH, 9 Sep 1861--6 Sep 1940, Martha HORNSBY SUDDUTH, 17 Sep 1862--20 Nov 1939, his wife, Both interred in Lebanon Christian Church Cemetery, Randolph Co., Alabama. There is only one J. C. SUDDUTH listed in the 1924 Randolph County List of Qualified Electors; he resided in Beat 10 (Roanoke), which agrees with the above notice. Lebanon is located about three miles north of Roanoke.
