HOWELL and Miss Bertha MIDDLETON, which was solemnized last Friday [11 Jun 1926] afternoon at 3 o’clock at the beautiful bungalow home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis MONTGOMERY at Cusseta[, Chambers Co.], Ala. The wedding coming at this time was a complete surprise to the friends and even the relatives of this popular couple, invitations to this happy affair being out for the sixteenth. The change in plans was caused by the continued illness of Mrs. MONTGOMERY, the bride’s sister. On account of the change of plans only a very few relatives and friends were present. Dr. RUCKER, of LaFayette, performed the ceremony and the bride and groom left immediately for a trip of a few days to Atlanta and Chattanooga. Mrs. HOWELL possesses a charming personality and many other attractive qualities of character that have won for her a host of friends in Roanoke and the other places where she is so favorably known. Mr. HOWELL is a fine young business man of sterling qualities, whose best friends are those who know him best. Mr. and Mrs. HOWELL are expected to return the last of the week and will be at home to their friends in Roanoke, where they will be most cordially welcomed.
