POOL [Jr.], one of Roanoke[‘s] prosperous merchants, will congratulate him upon his good fortune in winning as his life companion Miss Eulalia PINKARD, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Lee PINKARD, living a few miles north of town. The young lady is most highly spoken of and she will be cordially welcomed to Roanoke. The marriage occurred last Sunday [9 Sep 1917] afternoon at Evansville, [Troup co.,] Georgia, and was performed by Esquire HENDERSON. Mr. Gus MYHAND and Miss Myrtle PINKARD, Mr. Belmont PEARSON and Miss Lera ADCOCK accompanied the happy couple to Evansville, thence to LaGrange, the bridal pair proceeeding [sic] to Atlanta by automobile. Mr. and Mrs. POOL are expected to arrive in Roanoke today. POOL, 8 Sep 1815--28 Jul 1895, and Samantha H. HEFLIN POOL, 15 May 1825--3 Jan 1907, and W. E. WHITE, MD, 24 Feb 1820--28 Mar 1893, and Lucy [unknown maiden name] WHITE, 22 Feb 1825--31 May 1901 All are interred in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke.]
