M. YATES, went over to LaGrange [Troup co., GA] and “stole” Miss Gladys POUNDS from the LaGrange Female College, where she was in school, and they proceeded to get married. Dr. YATES received a telegram from Zelma this morning announcing the wedding and stating that he and his bride are in Atlanta for the present. Miss POUNDS is the daughter of one of Rock Mills’ well known citizens and is a very popular young lady. Zelma YATES is well known and admired in Roanoke, where he has attended school. The Leader extends felicitations. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 21 Feb 1917, p.1] [D.
