L. Williams, W. M. E. Herndon Glenn, Sec'y _________________ Another Seale merchant Mr. R. Margolias, left for New York on Tuesday last. He goes to purchase his stock of fall and winter goods, and will return about the first of September. __________________ The County Court, his Honor Judge O' Neal presiding, held a fashionable levee on Monday last, but it was rather poorly attended. We think the Judge ought to do better. Three players ony appeared on stage-one running the role of larceny and two assault and battery. The unlucks accused of failing to shampoo "old fine and costs" with lie-soap came to grief. They are now stopping at Ransom's boarding house, though they are not yet ransomed sinners. __________________ Divine services were had at the Methodist church last Saturday, Sunday and Sunday night, Rev. W. K. Norton, preacher in charge officiating. Some thoughtful ladies have arranged and trimmed the lights of the church to great advantage, they not "preferring darkness rather than light," and the result was a very percepotible and decided improvement. Mr. Norton anticipates protracting preaching and services when he fills his next appointment on 3rd Sunday in September. We are glad to hear this and hope that some good may be accomplished in the community. "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few." __________________ ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE!
