Mrs. J. T. Brown
Dies at Residence 
In Phenix City

Mrs. Mollie E. Brown, wife of J. T. Brown and well known Phenix City woman 
died yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at her residence, 628 Fifteenth 
street, Phenix City, after an illness of two weeks. 

Mrs. Brown was born March 16, 1867, being the daughter of the late Monroe 
and Sarah Palmer Bruce (sic), pioneer Columbus citizens.  She was married 
March 26, 1882, and she and Mr. Brown had made their home in Columbus and 
Phenix City continualy (sic) since that time; having lived in Phenix City 
for the past 40 years.  She was a member of the First Baptist church of 
Phenix City.

Surviving her besides her husband are a son, W. Clyde Brown of LaGrange, 
Ga., three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Pearson, Mrs. W. T. Bain and Mrs. J. L. 
Lane (sic) of Phenix City; three aunts, Mrs. J. H. Lumpkin of Waverly Hall, 
Ga., and Mrs. J. H. Jackson and Miss Ida Palmer of Junction City, Ga., and 
11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Trinity 
Methodist church of Phenix City.  Rev. W. J. Layton, of the Baptist church, 
will conduct the services, assisted by Rev. H .E. Wilson, pastor of Trinity 
Methodist church, and Rev. C. N. James, pastor of the First Baptist church 
of Phenix City, and the interment will be in Girard cemetery.

The following will serve as pallbearers: O.D. Swain, Glen W. Anthony, H. 
Skipper, Will McDonnell, John Freeman and H. D. Cobb.
