Russell Register, February 12, 1897
"Death in Girard.

Mrs. Etta Davis, aged 40 years, died at her home in Girard, last Sunday morning at 
4 o'clock, after an illness of three week[s] of pneumonia. Mrs. Davis was, for a 
number of years, a member of the Baptist church. The funeral occurred Monday, Rev. 
E. S. Moncrief conducting the service."
