Thomas McCollister of Phenix City, AL and two of his sons. Thomas McCollister 
was born 1832 in Carroll Co., GA, the son of Robert and Sarah "Sallie" Bailey 
McCollister/McAlister. Thomas moved with his family to the Columbus, GA - 
Phenix City, AL area around 1849. Thomas married Nancy Fletcher in Columbus, 
Ga on 26 May 1861. They lived in Phenix City and had a number of children. 
After Nancy's death in 1876, Thomas married Carrie Frances Favors in the early 
1880's. They had three children who were born in Phenix City. After the 
passing of Carrie Favors McCollister in 1895, Thomas then married Fannie 
Peterson in 1897. Thomas died 13 March 1927 and Fannie passed away 21 March 
1928. Thomas and all wives and family are intered at Linwood Cemeter in 
Columbus.
Thomas spent most of his adult life in Phenix City where he was a businessman, 
owning a number of businesses through the years. A primary business was a 
coffin factory he operated for a number of years. In 1902 reports note that he 
operated a ferry between Phenix City and Columbus. 
The picture shows Thomas (seated) and his two oldest sons; William Thomas 
McCollister (standing left) and John Robert McCollister (standing right). 
William Thomas was born in 1863 in Phenix City and died 1945 in Atlanta. John 
Robert was born 1861 in Columbus and died in 1942 at Village Springs in Blount 
County, AL.
