The picture is of William & Elander "Ellen" Malvina Lamb McCollister of Phenix 
City, Alabama. The picture was sent to me by a kind person whose name I no 
longer have due to a computer crash. But, I do offer again my thanks for 
sharing a true treasure. 
The picture was reportedly taken in the 1890's and shows William & Elander 
McCollister's family at that time. Shown from L to R, front row are: 
Kate "Katie" (1884-1968); *Etta (1887-1937); Carrie L. (1886-?); 
Missouri "Minnie" (1876-1962); & Edward Thomas (1882-1974). 
Back row, L to R are: Cornelia "Nealy" (1868-1940); Rebecca Jane "Beckie" 
(1870-aft 1930); *Ida Mae LeCroy (Jim's wife, 1866-1954); James S. "Jim" (1865-
1923); Elander Malvina Lamb (1840-1919); Walter A. (1871-1953); William (1840-
1907); Annie "Liza" (1880-aft 1930); & Mary E. "Mollie" (1873-1959). Note: 
*Ida Mae LeCroy was the wife of James S. "Jim" McCollister and *Etta was their 
daughter. 
William McCollister spent most of his adult life in Phenix City, AL. He was 
born Feburary 1840 in Carroll Co., GA, the son of Robert and Sarah "Sallie" 
Bailey McCollister/McAlister. William moved with his family to the Columbus, 
GA - Phenix City, AL area around 1849. He married Elander "Ellen" Malvina Lamb 
in Columbus, Ga on 20 October 1864. They lived in Phenix City and had 10 known 
children. William and Elander died in Phenix City, William on 24 June 1907 and 
Elander 19 November 1918. William and Elander are intered at Linwood Cemeter 
in Columbus, GA.
