Marriage License, State of Alabama, Russell County
Marriage License, State of Alabama, Russell County. To any Ordained or Licensed 
Minister of the Gospel, Judge of the Circuit or Probate Courts, or Justice of 
the Peace for said County:  You are hereby authorized to establish the Rites of 
Matrimoy between Eugene G. Walton and Theodosia Johnston. And this shall be  
your sufficient authority for so doing. Given under my hand and Seal this 23rd 
day of October A.D. 1891.
The above named parties were married by me at Hatchechubbee on the 25th day of 
Oct. 1891. Signed: C.E. S??????, J.P.
The State of Alabama, Russell County. Know all Men by these Presents: That we 
E.G. Walton & A.G. Walton are held and firmly bound unto the State of Alabama 
in the penal sum of Two Hundred Dollars, for the payment of which we bind 
ourselves and each and every of our heirs, executors and administrators, 
jointly and severally, by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated the 
22 Oct A.M 1891. The condition of the above obligation is such that if there be 
no lawful cause why E.G. Walton and Theodosia Johnston should not be joined 
together in the Rites of Matrimony,then this obligation to be oid, else to 
remain in full force and virtue. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence 
of: E.H.(????). Signed: E.G. Walton and A.G. Walton.

Additional Comments:
Eugene George Marion Walton was a son of Thomas Marion Walton and a descendant 
of Edward Walton. Alice Theodosia Johnston was a daughter of John Walker 
Johnston and Sara Jane Davis (daughter of Alexander Davis.
