Franklin F. Roberts Deed to James Rogan
This indenture made and entered into the sixth of June in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Franklin F. Roberts of the
one part and James Rogan of the other part both of the county of St. Clair in
the state of Alabama
Witnesseth that the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum
of one hundred and three dollars to him in hand paid before the sealing and
delivering of those presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
given granted bargained and sold and by those presents do give grant bargain
sell and deliver unto the said party of the second part one certain tract or
parcel of land containing fifty acres more or less designated and known as a
part of that of the last half of the North East quarter of section seven
township fourteen in range four last in the Huntsville land district which lies
to the south of the great road as it now runs running through and leading from
the town of Asheville westward; deducting that part of the town on the South
side of said road as per town plat, also one and three eighths acres on which
the Asheville Academy is now located to have and to hold the said bargained and
sold tract and parcel of land together with all the appertenances thereunto
belonging to him his heirs assigns executors and administrators forever and the
said party of the first part for and against himself his heirs and assigns and
against the lawful claim as claims of any person or persons whatsoever do the
covenant that he is well seized of said lands and tenements and doth forever
warrant and defend the right title and interest property claim and demand of in
and to the said bargained and sold land and tenements and every part and parcel
of the same to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns executors
and administrators

The State of Alabama St. Clair County
Before me Joshua W. Hooper Clerk of the St. Clair Couth Court for the county
aforesaid personally appeared Franklin F. Roberts who acknowledged that he
signed sealed and delivered the foregoing Deed of conveyance to James Rogan on
the day and date therein written  and for the purposes therein contained
Given under my hand and seal this sixth day of June A.D. 1833
