That he enlisted in the service of the State, or Confederate States, as a Private in Company I in the 18 Regiment on the 19 day of Aug 1861 at Harperville in the State of Alabama, and that he was honorably discharged from such service on the 21 day June 1862, that he did not desert the service of the Confederate States, or of the State of Alabama; That he was wounded at the battle of Shiloh in the State of Miss; That he is now unable to make a living by manuel labor on account of Wounds received as above states; That he is at the time of filing this application 70 years of age, and that his postoffice address is Ashville, Alabama; That he does not own property either in his own name, nor that of his wife, to the value of four hundred ($400) dollars; that his annual income does not exceed four hundred ($400) dollars; and that he has no children upon whom he can depend for support.
